Book Pages

When I first started this site, I had a firm intention of developing a strong book section. However, along the way I rather lost my way, uncertain how best to manage this. The problem was exacerbated two years ago when I mismanaged a change to the hosting methodology and ended up forced to revise the structure of the back pages. I ended up with a tangled mess (thankfully hidden from public view). I have since worked out just how I want to proceed, and have started to unravel the tangle.

The core of this is a fairly comprehensive simple listing of titles that I believe to be worth while, covering the full range of topics that I believe to be relevant to the intersection of faith and sexuality, each with a link to Amazon.com. These will not necessarily be books that I personally have read or recommend, but they will be books that I know from other reliable sources, deserve consideration. This list, which will be constantly revised and extended, will be permanently located on the Resources page, “Booklist - Complete“. It still needs a little tidying up, and there will be some omissions needing correction, but this is in essence complete, in its current form.

Based on the complete list, I am developing a series of thematic lists on more specific topics. Three of these have already been published on the resource pages: Gay/ Lesbian and Queer Theology; Bible; and Love, Marriage and Family. More will follow.

At this stage, these thematic pages have the same content as the complete list from which they are drawn, but the plan is to expand them, with short introductory notes for those titles that are either particularly important in their field, or that I personally particularly recommend. Later, still more focussed post types will follow.

Like the rest of the site, this is a work in progress - long interrupted, and now resumed. I welcome all suggestions and corrections. I particularly invite authors who may feel they have been unduly neglected or misrepresented to write to me, either in the comments, or directly, to [email protected]
