I have now begun the site redesign, to more closely match my conception of what the site should be doing. To get a proper feel, go to the front page at the top - level domain, http://queeringthechurch.com rather than a specific post. You will see that at a glance, you will have a snap-shot of a range of recent post headlines, rather than just the most recent one. The design theme is called “Magazine Basic”, and that is precisely what I want this to be - a magazine for browsing through, rather than just a succession of opinion pieces.
There’s a way to go, yet, with a number of features to be added - notably, some strong page navigation help , and some tweaking to be done, but it’s a start.
Enjoy the new look.
I like this new look very much, but can the middle column possibly be made a bit wider? Long headlines are getting squished to point of silliness.
As I said, there’s tweaking still to be done.
I thing already done since launching it, has been precisely to increase the total width, and so also the middle column. (I’m not certain exactly when that will take effect). If that doesn’t work out, I’ll try something else.
